Shimshal Pass Trek is a Fantastic walking journey to Shimshal Pass in The Karakoram Mountain region of Pakistan. Shimshal Pass is a high-altitude Pass at a height of 4,735 meters above sea level.

Shimshal Pass Trek is located on the border between Pakistan and China in the Gilgit Baltistan region of Pakistan. Shimshal Trek allows you to get a better perspective on the way Shimshali people live as well the spectacular mountain vistas of the Karakoram mountain range. From Shimshal Pass, you will have a fantastic view of K2 (8211 M) and many other famous Karakoram peaks. Picturesque rural scenes, magnificent landscape, exhilarating trekking and genuine hospitality of the Shimshal Valley people make the Shimshal Pass Trek one of the best treks in the world.

We operate 17-19 days long Shimshal Pass Trek, starting and finishing in Islamabad. Our Travel Itinerary is best in terms of acclimatisation, safety, and enjoyment. Islamabad international airport  is the nearest international airport to arrive for the Shimshal Pass Trek. Our representative will meet and greet you at the Islamabad Airport and transfer you to the hotel for a rest. You will spend one night in Islamabad then travel towards Naran Town in the north for a night stay. En route, you will pass some historical towns, Taxila, Hassan Abdal and Abbottabad. Naran Town is in the lush green Naran Valley which is very popular among domestic tourists for short holidays.

After spending the night in Naran, you will continue your journey on the Naran road then join the famous Karakoram Highway with a spectacular view of Nanga parbat and Rakaposhi (7,788m) mountains to Karimabad. Karimabad is the capital of the modern Hunza Valley . Here you will explore the local Bazar, over 700 years old UNESCO-listed Baltit and Altit Forts, and experience the fantastic sunrise view from the eagle nest viewpoint. After spending two nights in Karimabad, today you will drive along the Hunza River on The Karakoram Highway to reach Shimshal village.

Shimshal Village is 3,100 meters above sea level, which is the highest settlement in the Shimshal Village . You will arrive in Shimshal Village  in the early afternoon, The rest of the afternoon is to exploring the village and getting to know the local people. After spending the night in Shimshal , today will be your first trekking day of Shimshal Pass Trek towards Pastfurzeen campsite. You will cross two rivers to reach Garsar, where you will have lunch with spectacular mountain views. Night stay in the camp under the stars at the Pastfurzeen campsite.

Next day, after breakfast you will continue your epic walking journey to Arobab Peryeen camp by crossing Pamirthung and Chichan Bridge. Another beautiful night under the canvas in the camp then trek to Shuijarab. Shuijarab is the summer herding settlement of the Shimshali people. Shepherds from Shimshal Village stay here for 3-4 months with their, Yaks, Goats, and sheep. You will have the opportunity to speak to the Shepards and get to know the Shimshali People in their summer settlements.

After spending two nights at the summer settlements with the Shepards, today you will trek to . Here you will camp at the bank of a crystal Clear blue water lake on the green meadow. Night in the camp and next day optional trek/climb to the top of  Manglik Sar(6,050 meters). After visiting the Shimshal Pass, you will return by descending towards, Arbob Peyreen, Past Furzeen then to Shimshal Village. From Shimshal Village, you will drive to Karimabad for a night stay and the next day drive on Karakoram Highway to Naran Town with a spectacular view of Nanga parbat in the background.

One night in Naran and the next morning drive to Islamabad. After spending a night in Islamabad, we will transfer you to Islamabad International Airport for your flight back home. Please make sure to book your return flight from Islamabad on the last day of the Itinerary. Your Shimshal Pass Trek journey will conclude here.
